Organizing and becoming clutter-free seems to the trend of the year. Personally I love organizing. Everything has a place and everything in its place is an incredible way to live, I’m sure. I wish all of my belongs had a home, but we are getting there. It feels so good to get rid of the things that I don’t need. I like being able to open a drawer or cabinet and see everything that is in it without having to move things around or out. Seeing tables covered with paperwork and drawers overflowing with items that don’t belong there, makes me a little bonkers. I find it hard to accomplish tasks when all I see is clutter.
After the purging of all the unwanted stuff/clutter is over, what do you do with the rest that you want to keep? Having unique containers, that are also efficient is what I am going for in my home. Using crochet baskets for organization are perfect to accomplish just that.
Next to my bed I have a small antique dresser, not a nightstand. The top of the dresser is where I keep my jewelry and perfume. It looks pretty there, I don’t want to use it as a nightstand. The hanging basket that I designed works perfectly to hang on a bedpost to hold things like your phone, remote, small lotion bottle nailfile and chapstick. Little things that you need, but don’t want to look at.
Storage baskets are also wonderful for storing baby stuff randomly throughout the house, without it looking like baby stuff everywhere. These little baskets are perfect for storing baby wipes and diaper cream the living room without it looking like a diaper changing station.
Crochet Basket Designs
Both the Hanging Basket and The Two Handle Baskets are Original Designs by The Jonesy Co. These patterns are beginner friendly, quick to complete and include a photo tutorial.
I recommend using Bernat Softee Chunky Yarn, it works up quickly and makes the baskets very sturdy. Some crochet baskets get slouchy, but with this yarn they really hold their shape!
You can purchase the patterns here or in my Etsy Shop. Let me know what would you use these baskets for? The Two Handle Basket was originally designed for holding a roll of toilet paper! Don’t forget to tag me in your completed photos @thejonesyco! — Happy Hooking, Sarah!
