Instagram post 2176511731869027806_7033625992 When we get close to the end of a year we tend to look back over how far we have come and what goals we achieved or didn't achieve. For me I'm looking back over a couple of years. 2018 started out as a really hard year for me and ended up being a year of finding more out about myself. 2019 was a year of growing and stepping out of my comfort zone in so many ways. From talking to people on Instagram to doing my first market. . . I have OCD and I first started having anxiety and panic attacks because if it. Everything started on 2010 I was just married and was about to graduate college everything was great. Until the panic attacks started and it was incredible scary. . . I started seeing a new therapist in 2018. My therapist asked if there was anything I did that was just for myself. At that time the answer was no. I had closed my Etsy shop because of not being able to find time with an infant and a toddler and I had no hobbies that were mine alone aside from reading and watching TV (I can't really make a career out of that). . . I had really lost myself, I think. So many aspects of myself over the years, not because of getting married and having babies, but just because of life. I had been a person to create and make things all the time and didn't really remember that. It's weird to forget things about yourself. . . In 2018 with the support of my husband, family and close friends I decided to reopen my Etsy shop and that I was going to make the things that I liked to have in my home or that I liked wear. I don't offer babies stuff anymore which is what I started out with and I didn't like making those items at all. I also decided that I was going all in and that I needed a space that was just for The Jonesy Co. . . This is my maker space, like me and my business it is always adapting. My favorite feature in this space is that my desk is facing out into our home and to an open window. It is kind of organized right now and it feels so great to be right here. . I can't believe all the things that I have happened with this little side hustle since reopening in 2018. I say currently because I'm hoping one day my husband will be able to join me in creating the pieces he loves and we can be makers in business together, living the dream . . I'm a coffee lover, like coffee all day long kind of coffee lover. It's a problem I'm working on it 😉 . . I enjoy ending my days with none other than the lovely TV. Outlander, The Good Place and Schitt's Creek are my current obsessions. . . The fella in this photo is my hubby and we have been together for 15 years and married for nearly 10. He is my biggest supporter, next to our kiddos. . . I went to college for Pyschology and then changed my major to and graduated with a degree in interior design. It was a great choice for me, even though I currently haven't been using my degree. It really pushed me to explore my creative side in ways that I hadn't for many years. . . How about something interesting... when I was a kid I lived in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for about 18 months. It was pretty awesome getting to live so close to ocean. I would get to see the sunrise over the ocean every morning while I waited for the school bus. . .
